Francisco López has been solo flute of the OBC since 2018. He was previously principal flute of the Oslo Philharmonic and the Göteborg Opera Orchestra.
His most distinguished merits include the four prizes he received in Munich at the ARD-International Music Competition in 2015, including second prize, audience prize and best performance of the work commissioned for the competition.
Francisco’s career has mainly taken place in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, where he resided for more than ten years, and he has collaborated with the main Nordic orchestras, such as the Göteborg Symphony, Stockholm Radio and the Danish National Orchestra.
In addition to his activity as an orchestral musician, he is very active as a teacher, giving masterclasses in most of the higher conservatories in Spain, Sweden and Norway.
He is also a composer, and has premiered works for flute with great success, such as Mångata – Reflejos de la luna en el Jerte, Mononoke-hime and El Bailaero de las gitanas.
